02 / The Genesis mint
The first sale introduced the Genesis collection: 2,000 Rubber Duckz, each drawn individually by hand. Every Duck an original.
JANUARY 16, 202203 / Rewarding the flock
The original plan reserved 50 Duckz for early supporters and the team, plus 50 for community giveaways. Raffles, games and rewards were part of gathering the flock.
ORIGINAL ALLOCATION04 / Giving back
The team announced a $50,000 donation to Boston Children’s Hospital on February 15, 2022. The hospital’s thank-you letter recognizes the community’s support in Alice’s memory.
IN ALICE’S MEMORY05 / The Pond
A place for the flock to gather beyond the collection. The original plan imagined a virtual hangout, a game and a museum for the community’s art. The milestone map marked virtual land as complete, while the broader metaverse experience remained part of the project’s early vision.
ORIGINAL VISION06 / Genesis merch
Hoodies, caps, T-shirts and the complete Genesis combo took the Duckz into everyday life. Produced and distributed by Arenoso Clothes, the original drop is sold out.
SOLD OUT07 / Times Square
The flock reached the billboards of Times Square during NFT.NYC. Photographs and video in this community gallery preserve the flock’s New York moment.

The illustrated map pictured a 2022 Quacky Game. It belonged to the project’s broader idea for games and a metaverse hangout, described as work in progress in the original website.
ORIGINAL VISION09 / The next chapter
The original map pointed toward another chapter for the flock. It captured an open-ended moment in the project’s history and the community’s imagination.
A NEXT CHAPTER10 / A second collection
The map imagined a second collection and creative collaborations. BYORD made the collector part of the creative process: Build Your Own Rubber Duck. Its maximum on-chain supply is 5,000; holders hatched 569 custom Duckz from nine categories of illustrated traits.

Five years later, as the noise faded and empty promises fell away, we returned when no one expected us. We came back to rebuild our castle, our project and our community — with the same heart and a renewed purpose.
THE RETURN12 / Fine-art ambitions
The map pictured a Christie’s auction house, expressing an ambition to take the Duckz into the wider art world. This illustration represents that original aspiration.

On January 16, 2022, all 2,000 Rubber Duckz sold out in the public mint in just 12 minutes. Each token minted for 0.09 ETH, approximately US$300 at the time. Individually drawn by hand. Every Duck, a one-of-one.
